Your privacy at knewr
Last updated: August 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Knewr AI (“knewr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information in connection with our websites, demos, signup flows, and platform services (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated when you use the Service:
- Account & contact details — name, work email, phone number, academy or organization name, role, and similar signup or demo fields
- Academy configuration — subdomain preferences, plan interest, learner counts, and messages you send us
- Content you upload — course materials, media, learner data you choose to store in your academy workspace
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, approximate location, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Service
- Communications — emails and support conversations with us
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage academy accounts and workspaces
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including AI-assisted features)
- Respond to demos, pricing inquiries, and support requests
- Send transactional messages (confirmations, security notices, product updates related to your account)
- Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and protect the security of knewr and our users
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We may use aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you for analytics and product improvement.
3. AI processing
When you use AI features (such as AI teaching or narration), content you provide may be processed to generate outputs for your academy. We do not sell your Customer Content. Providers we use to power AI features are engaged as service providers under appropriate contractual safeguards.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us host, email, analyze, or operate the Service (under confidentiality and data-processing terms)
- Your organization — administrators of an academy may access information within that workspace
- Legal & safety — when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate protections
5. Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage for essential functions such as remembering your theme preference (knewr-theme), keeping sessions secure, and understanding basic site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. When an academy is deleted or an account closed, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business records.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords and careful access control within your academy.
8. International transfers
knewr may process information in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps intended to provide an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email hello@knewr.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are a learner whose data is managed by an academy customer, please contact that academy’s administrator first — they control most learner records in their workspace.
10. Children
The Service is directed at organizations and adults creating training academies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 for marketing our website. If you believe a child has provided us personal information inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material updates may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at hello@knewr.com.
This Policy is a general template for knewr’s marketing site and signup experience. It is not legal advice. Have counsel review it for your jurisdictions and data-processing arrangements before production use.
